Taiyo Boily is back in the news
Our 7-year-old phenom Taiyo Boily is back in the new as he continues to promote awareness around the earthquake disaster in Japan. His original goal of raising $500 was achieved long ago, as he has now raised well over $4000 that he is donating to Save the Children Canada.
Taiyo was recently invited to a Seattle Mariners game where he got to meet some of the players and hang out on the field during batting practice. A rundown of Taiyo’s experience with the Mariners can be found on the Mariners blog.
Milo Boily (Taiyo’s father) recently sent us an update on what the little guy is up to: “Taiyo is in Japan now and already playing ball. They put him in at pitcher 3 days after he landed in Japan at a 9 to 11 year old tournament in Saitama. He pitched 4 innings and gave up only 2 runs on 3 hits. Not bad for a 7 year old! He really wishes he could be here for the final tonight but wants to wish Coquitlam good luck against White Rock!”
