Celebrating 70 Years of Coquitlam Little League
As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of Coquitlam Little League (CLL), it's a time to reflect on our rich history, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the future.
Fraser Mills Team from 1920
A Brief History
Baseball has been a part of our community since the 1920s, with local teams like the "Circle F" Fraser Mills playing on diamonds built on deforested land. In 1947, the Western Lumber Company donated land to the city, which was dedicated as a public park in 1979. Mackin Park, our little league gem, has hosted baseball games for over 40 years.
Founded in 1955, CLL has been a cornerstone in the Tri-Cities area, known for hosting some of the best tournaments across Canada and engaging the community by supporting our community partners and hosting events like parent pub nights and family outdoor movie nights.
Our Programs
CLL offers regular season opportunities for children ages 4–16, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game. We also provide postseason (all-star) opportunities for children ages 8–16, allowing players to showcase their skills in competitive settings.
Notable Achievements
Over the years, CLL has celebrated numerous championships, including:
- 2018 Senior Provincials (D3 Warriors)
- 2018 Junior Provincials (D3 All Stars)
- 2018 Intermediate Canadians (D3 Vipers)
- 2017 Senior Canadians (D3 Warriors)
- 2016 9/10 Provincials (A's)
These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our players, coaches, and volunteers.
Honouring Our Volunteers
Our league thrives because of the countless volunteers who dedicate their time and energy. In 2023, we recognized individuals who went above and beyond, awarding them tokens of appreciation for their contributions.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to providing a positive environment where young athletes can develop their skills and passion for baseball. Here's to many more years of community, teamwork, and the love of the game.
