Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.
As you can see from the photo gallery, being part of an organization like CLL can be a lot of fun! Our league is completely run by volunteers from the CLL family. Everything, including running the concession, scorekeeping, field prep, coaching, fund raising, grilling hotdogs, and even being on the board, is completely volunteer. Stay tuned here for information on clinics and info sessions for scorekeeping, field prep, concession help, etc. We'll be posting the team parent manuals here soon, as well. each team needs 2 team parents, and everyone will have an opportunity to pitch in and make their kids' season a memorable one. Many hands make light work, and don't worry, if you're not sure how to do something, there are always plenty of experienced folks around the park who will be happy to show you the ropes! Have fun!!
